Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 Locks Candy Behind a Pass
Halloween 2026 Part One again gates 2× catch Candy at GO Pass Rank 10, adds Stardust at Rank 20, and puts two new costumes in raids.
Halloween 2026 Part One in Pokémon GO runs October 27 to November 1 and locks 2× catch Candy at GO Pass Rank 10. Rank 20 adds 2× catch Stardust, and Deluxe raises both multipliers to 3×.
The Pokémon GO blog posted the plan on October 5, with a free pass for every account and a paid Deluxe track from US$7.99. The spawn window lasts five days. The pass keeps scoring points after that window closes.
Pikachu in a Hat and Capelet, Plus Two More
Three new costume Pokémon debut during Part One, and each can be Shiny. Pikachu wears a hat and a short cape. Zubat wears a top hat. Sinistea wears a bow.
The blog’s own post frames the week as trick-or-treat with costumed Pikachu, Zubat, and Sinistea. The official account put the same art up on October 5.

Those looks will drive the screenshots. They will not, on their own, turn on the Candy bonus that used to arrive with Halloween. That switch sits on the pass.
Candy Stopped Being a Free Halloween Gift
For years the holiday’s main perk was extra Candy on every catch, live for anyone who opened the game. In 2024, Pokémon’s Halloween Part II post still listed 2× Candy for catching Pokémon as an event-wide bonus. A paid research ticket was the path to 3×, and trainers level 31 and up got a better shot at Candy XL on Nice throws or better.
Halloween 2025 changed the plumbing. Candy no longer turned on with the event clock. You ranked a GO Pass, and Rank 10 was the first real treat.
Pokémon’s Halloween 2025 Part II post told players to reach milestones for the GO Pass Halloween 2025 milestone bonuses. Tier 1 was 2× Catch Candy at Rank 10, or 3× on Deluxe. Rank 25 added a Candy XL catch bump for level 31 and up. Rank 40 added extra Candy on transfers, with Deluxe pushing that line further.
Part One in 2026 keeps the Rank 10 Candy lock for a second straight Halloween. Recap posts still write 2× Candy as if it were an event toggle. It is not. Nothing in the October 5 post turns Candy on at 10:00 a.m. on October 27. Rank 10 is the switch, and Deluxe is the only way to 3×.
HALLOWEEN CATCH BONUSES, THREE YEARS
| Year | Catch Candy | Second bonus | How it turns on |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 2×, or 3× with paid research | Candy XL chance on Nice throws, level 31+ | Live for the whole event |
| 2025 | 2× at Rank 10, 3× on Deluxe | XL catch bump at Rank 25; transfer Candy at Rank 40 | GO Pass milestones |
| 2026 Part I | 2× at Rank 10, 3× on Deluxe | 2× catch Stardust at Rank 20, 3× on Deluxe | GO Pass milestones |
The 2026 Part I post does not list the 2025 Rank 25 or Rank 40 Candy XL steps. Those may return in a later blog. They are not part of the Part One sheet.
Rank 20 Now Holds the Stardust Too
The new lock is Stardust. After you hit Rank 20, catches pay 2× Stardust, or 3× with Deluxe. Halloween 2025’s pass spent its later ranks on Candy XL. This one spends Rank 20 on dust.
That swap changes who the pass is for. Candy XL at Rank 40 was a long grind aimed at level 31 and up, people feeding Legendaries into the transfer loop. Stardust at Rank 20 is a shorter ladder with a wider audience, because every catch spends dust.
The blog also says to watch for extra bonus tasks on this GO Pass during the event. The public rank list in the Part I post still stops at those two milestones. Free-track rewards named in the same post are event encounters, event Candy, Rare Candy, and Ultra Balls. Deluxe adds more encounters, Rare Candy XL, Premium Battle Passes, and a Patissier Top and Pants set.
Patissier is pastry-chef kit, which sits next to a tea Pokémon in a bow. The paid avatar drop is dessert. The free shop drop is gothic streetwear.
Where Do You Find Costume Pikachu in 2026?
Costume Pikachu is a one-star raid, not a wild spawn. Sinistea in a bow is the other one-star debut. Top-hat Zubat is the new costume you can walk into without a raid pass.
NEW COSTUME ENCOUNTERS IN PART ONE
| Pokémon | Costume | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Pikachu | Hat and capelet | One-star raids |
| Zubat | Top hat | Wild encounters |
| Sinistea | Bow | One-star raids |
A one-star raid is still a pass, a lobby, and a timer. Rural players who skip raids can still hunt the Zubat. They cannot collect the new Pikachu or Sinistea from grass.
The blog’s named wild list around that Zubat is short. Duskull is in the mix. So is Piplup wearing a Halloween Mischief costume, a returning outfit. If you are lucky, Drifblim in the same Mischief costume can show up too. Field Research is event-themed and pays event encounters, with no task list in the Part I post.
TRICK-OR-TREAT OBJECTS IN THE WILD
- The objects: Spooky surprises left in the wild by “mischievous Pokémon,” tappable during Part One.
- The encounters: Event-themed Pokémon can pop out of those taps.
- The Candy: Pikachu Candy, Zubat Candy, or Sinistea Candy can drop, with Rare Candy as the lucky roll.
Those objects are the one Part One mechanic that can feed Candy for the new costumes without a raid. They are also luck-gated, and the blog does not publish drop rates.
GO Pass Points Keep Coming Until November 5
Part One is the spawn show. The product around it is longer. Everyone receives GO Pass: Halloween 2026 at 10:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, October 27. You can keep collecting GO Points through 8:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, November 5. Unclaimed rewards expire at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7.
Part One itself ends at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, which is 4 days and 10 hours before point-earning stops. The October 5 post already talks about “both parts” of the Halloween event for decor, without dating Part Two. The pass calendar is the only public end date that runs into that second week.
THE HALLOWEEN 2026 CLOCK
- October 5, 2026: The Pokémon GO blog publishes the Part I plan, carrying a Scopely copyright line.
- October 6, 2026, 10:00 a.m. local: GO Pass: October begins, a separate monthly track that runs until November 3 at 10:00 a.m.
- October 27, 2026, 10:00 a.m. local: Halloween Part One and GO Pass: Halloween 2026 both start.
- October 31, 12:00 a.m. to November 1, 11:59 p.m. local: The monthly October pass runs with no daily cap on GO Points, overlapping Halloween night.
- November 1, 2026, 10:00 a.m. local: Part One ends.
- November 5, 2026, 8:00 p.m. local: Halloween GO Pass point-earning ends.
- November 7, 2026, 8:00 p.m. local: Unclaimed Halloween GO Pass rewards expire.
Two passes overlap from October 27 through November 3. The monthly track also lifts its daily cap, with no daily limit for GO Points from October 31 at 12:00 a.m. to November 1 at 11:59 p.m. local time. Halloween night is a double-pass window if you are still climbing Rank 10 on the event track.
Lavender Town Plays After Dark
The free atmosphere work is the same idea as recent Halloweens: map dressing plus a night track. Encounters, PokéStops, and Gyms get holiday decor across both parts of the event. After dark, a remix of the Lavender Town theme plays in-game.
A remix of the Lavender Town music will be playing nightly during this year’s Halloween event. Turn up your in-game sound to feel like you’re taking a stroll through Lavender Town!
Pokémon GO blog, October 5, 2026
The same post points to a video of the remix. It is the one piece of Part One you can hear before October 27.
Stickers come from PokéStop spins, Gifts, and the shop. None of that requires Rank 10. The music does not either. The Candy multiplier does.
How Much the Deluxe Track Costs
Deluxe is US$7.99, or the local tier. For US$9.99, Deluxe + 10 Ranks grants enough GO Points to reach Rank 11. Rank 11 is past Rank 10, so the Candy bonus is on as soon as that bundle activates. Stardust still waits for Rank 20.
You can buy Deluxe later in the window and still claim ranks you already cleared. Availability can vary by region. Prices are listed in USD or the matching local tier.
DELUXE AND WEB STORE ADD-ONS
- In-game Deluxe: US$7.99 for the paid track, 3× Candy at Rank 10 and 3× Stardust at Rank 20, plus Patissier clothes, Rare Candy XL, and Premium Battle Passes.
- Deluxe + 10 Ranks: US$9.99, same track, starting at Rank 11 so the Candy bonus is already live.
- Web store Deluxe gift: 10 Ultra Balls, five Max Revives, one Premium Battle Pass, and five Max Potions.
- Web store +10 gift: the same potion and ball pack, with two Premium Battle Passes instead of one. An Ultra Box variant adds 20 Ultra Balls, 10 Max Revives, 10 Max Potions, and five Premium Battle Passes.
The in-game shop also sells a Gothic Skirt Set, Gothic Shorts Set, Gothic Socks, and Gothic Boots during the event, and those stay in the catalog after Part One ends. They are a separate cash sink from the pass.
Free play still gets the costumes that spawn in the wild, the trick-or-treat objects, the night music, and a pass that can unlock 2× Candy at Rank 10 without paying. Raid-only Pikachu, raid-only Sinistea, 3× rates, and the pastry avatar set sit on the other side of a pass, a raid lobby, or US$7.99. Claim whatever you unlock before 8:00 p.m. local time on November 7, or it lapses.
